New York based label- NOSI Music gets low slung and tricks you in to their latest release ”Chompers” with Pete Bones at the helm, injecting enough fire power in to the original mix to down a block. The track contains heady deepness, a dark sub aquatic bass, crackling synths and slowly unfurling rhythmic complexity. Dangling on a string there’s that catchy bass line with fissures of metallic melody as well. The back ground has a tough mental palette to make it dance floor friendly and also provides enough character detailed out for head phone use. Very smart indeed!!
Getting on to the first of the remixes in the package, Danielle Nicole distils a thick atmospheric charge in to the original. There’s a reduction on the metallic face, the pace kinda gets reduced to a dreamy languid one. The bass line gets super smooth with funk and swing in it’s step. The cling clang at the back is sublimely fun to hear.
The label ropes in NYC Djing elite K1W1 to give us the second remix who takes the high road with punchy static beats very reminiscent of the vibe of the super clubbing days of pure Progressive House. An inspired move at best. A revving bass line, and propulsive face meets you square and fair. There’s gloopy ornamentation, the focus of the beats is slanting heavy. The expertise of K1W1’s musicality nudges you to dance.
Last but not the least, Ivan Melnik finishes things up with a neat, tantalizing rework that has a churning melodic line inside, the deep exterior goes dark, kicking its way through sinuously and gets off with a staccato bass. This one’s a fanged beast of subtle proportions.
