Robert Babicz – Black Lion (feat Digweed & Muir, Mario Hammer, Tim Engelhardt remixes) [BABICZSTYLE]
by Admin January 17, 2015Robert Babicz’s excellent imprint BABICZSTYLE returns with another serious EP of absolute quality… but did you expect anything less?
The boss man himself delivers 3 great tracks, kicking off with the title track ‘Black Lion’. This slab of magic fuses floaty tones with a phat bassline, great melodies and grooving beats, all woven together seamlessly. This is big!
‘Tender’ is next, and is a techier sounding workout, subtly meandering along, as elements come and go, locking you in to its hypnotic charm.
While ‘Lost’ completes the trio of originals, and keeps the quality factor up on maximum. This mysterious voyage takes you on an excursion in to Roberts mind, with its mesmerising soundscape, deep and spellbinding, with its simplicity shining through.
For the first of the remixes, Robert brings out the big guns, as ‘John Digweed & Nick Muir’ take control. This accomplished rework oozes class from the off, as its exquisite adventure begins as it continues, with a smile inducing aura, while pleasing the feet on the dance floor throughout.
‘Mario Hammer’ works wonders with his electronica / chill out remix. Starting floaty and warm, but then side stepping to the darker side. Very cool indeed.
And rounding off this wondrous package, ‘Tim Engelhardt’ goes straight back to the dance floor for a sophisticated skippy layered beauty, full of desire and dreams of sunshine
