Roger Martinez – Gomera EP [Plattenbank]

After a host of stirringly good releases over the last one year Roger Martinez marks his presence on Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank imprint with his two tracker titled – “Gomera/ Innerspace”.
For the most part the first – “Gomera” is an exceptional piece of work by Martinez showing off a command on the arrangements, as the thudding splattering bass line snakes around a throbbingly good center of melodic atmosphere, the glacial beats and overture of synths make this one fascinating floor fodder. The off kilter groove and warm pads swirl about at the back, all lift up and bring you down at once. Great stuff!!
The second – “Innerspace” gives the release the requisite move on factor with straight up blocky Techno beats, that queasily work around your brains deserving a work out. This is lacerated Techno, and the jacking quality with snarly electronics course around a chunked out bass, not entirely associated with Roger Martinez’s previous body of work, but he makes good of this other side, no doubt. There is a kind of dark narrative to this track, with a rise of the machines work out language,in place. In as much to say, you cannot stop yourself from pounding the space you’re at.
The agenda is dance more or less and this release is a must have for your record bag!!
