Amber Long, Robert Mason, Decker – Apologies [Stripped Digital]

Another one of Stripped Digital’s just released slick moments, comes in the form of ”Apologies”, Original Mix put together by Robert Mason, Decker and not only does the track contain the lustrous vocals of Canadian vixen Amber Long, she has also gone the distance as producer for this pleasurable package. On to the cheeky beats, plucky bass line, and sizzling textured vocalism, every bit of which is deliciously wrong. Speedy chunks of digital fuzz and wonky exterior spells class. There’s an understated rhythm along-side, which makes the tune engrossing fare.
Words fail to describe the gigantic overture of CID Inc’s remix work. As always, the man’s mind bending audacity and expertise picks up the original and quickly owns it. He builds the groove, hard drives the bass line and tops it up with a kinda tribal vibe that should serve to build any set towards a climax of epic proportions. The vocals remain hypnotic, with brush strokes of deep spaceyness that reaches out to the farthest corner of the room. The track goes down like a charm, after a nasty break down unhinges most of your body parts.

There’s a Dub Mix thrown in by the man, to finish the proceedings with a flourish, keeping true to the original, the watery narcotic synths and slightly off centered bass line shows its face again. And much the same as the previous remix, except that this time it’s got a tinge of Techno inside. Fashionable and one of those artfully constructed floor pushers expected out of the Helsinki master.
