Next up for UK house making machine Leftwing & Kody is a three track EP on Lost Records. Full of tough kicks and robust grooves, it is exactly the sort of EP that has topped Beatport charts, picked up plays from DJs everywhere and generally seen this pair to the top. As well as their originals, a remix from Luca Cazal rounds out the package.
Up first, One Nation is a rave house track with siren stabs, clipped vocals and a rolling bassline that just cannot fail to suck you in. Don’t Look is then a deeper cut but is still a perfectly crafted, irresistibly groovy house cut with thick bass, vocals used as another percussive element rather than main hook and plenty of oomph in its kicks.
Then comes That’s The Way, another fulsome and banging house cut with crisp percussion, expertly deployed vocal stabs and double barrelled bass that will fill any club with rich, warm sound that rattles ribs. Classic in its breakdown, hardcore deep house never sounded better. Luca Cazal, the solo producer with a long list of collaborative credits to his name, then put his own special spin on proceedings and offers something refreshingly different as a result.
