For folks who’ve been around long enough will surely remember the beauty and vastness of that provocative tune titled – “Deliverance” by French producer Emilie de Fouchecour that released way back in 2003 on Dutch label Cyber Records.
As I dust off the shadowy strains of classical Progressive Trance, or at least what we know off it, Solarstone’s label Touchstone Recordings brings the magic back by remastering Nugen’s original mix of the tune that sees a release this week, staying oodles of authenticity of the style in question, yet it brings to us a contemporary feel which is worthy of every dance floors of the world.
The livid pace of the original comes to the fore and organic pasture is heightened with the sense of chaos compounded by one of the finest searchlight style throbbing bass lines in forever. This is body music and of the primal kind, meant for late night antics. The vocalism and clattering percussives fit like a glove, and the twists and tweaks race ahead in all its 11 minutes of remastered glory.
Cut to Arizona’s master musician Brenden LaBonte better known as Forerunners furnishes us a ridiculously fabulous remix of the track as he melds it up in to a modern day melodic giant, fit for much accolades.
The oppressive atmosphere of his handiwork sounds almost Gothic at times. Turn it up, though, and it engages the body much like conventional dance music, an amniotic tidal wave of bass pressure. It’s that sparkly rework, beautifully crafted to stand head and shoulders above the rest. The tickling keys, layers of clopped percussion and dizzying bass ascends so smoothly that only when the needle’s on the run-out groove (of more spaceship take-off sounds) do you realize you’ve gotten so high that you’re up in outer space and never coming back down.
Fabulous stuff!!
