Based out of Amsterdam, DJ/Producers Damion Pell & Alex Preda are poised to release their collaborative effort titled – “Romper Stomper” on Stripped Off, first week of June.
The original mix is an adventurously eccentric production that may be a bit too overwhelming for your typical dance floor, but it’s sure to garner a ‘what’s going on’ reaction if used correctly at the right time of the party. Saddled with tough grooves and elephantine bass this is peak time horse power, with it’s ominous gong and furious clunkyness. The hard edged beats, make you work out in a no nonsense way.
Hitting the middle of the EP, is Jacob Phono’s Subcult Remix, which just does it for me. His deconstruction is fabulous fun. It’s well produced, forceful beats doesn’t just bang it, but keeps an underground flavor overall, to make things really interesting. The densely packed groove is overlayed with a dominating rhythm, interlocking on a kick thrust, that makes the track lurch forward. The effect is kind of narcotic, as the resonant synth stabs coast atop a badly behaved bass line.
Neil Browne sets about giving us the finisher, breaking the main chord, and the rest of the machinery goes in to quirky busied atmospherics in the back ground. The Irish musician blasts the speakers, from a pumping, exhilarating base. An oscillating bass, a killing bleeping synth just plays on and on and then one gets in to which one of these offerings does one choose to throw out, confusion.

Well done!!
